Stop Asking AI to Write Your Emails (And Start Building Instead)
Why the creators winning in 2025 aren't just AI users—they're AI builders
I recently had a great conversation with my friend Jürgen Strauss on the
podcast, and I'm excited to share that the episode is now live!We dove deep into something I'm passionate about right now: shifting from using AI to truly partnering with it.
Beyond Basic Content Generation
Look, I know most of us started with AI for the obvious tasks—writing emails, brainstorming blog posts, and maybe generating social media captions. And that's fantastic! But here's what I've discovered...
That's just the tip of the iceberg.
In our conversation, I shared how AI has become my actual business partner. I'm not just asking it to write things for me anymore. I'm having conversations with it. I'm solving problems with it. I'm building things I never thought possible.
Jürgen mentioned how he used to spend 3-4 days creating a workshop from scratch. With his AI partnership approach? An hour and a half.
Same quality.
Fraction of the time.
The Conversational Breakthrough
One thing that came up that I absolutely love is how we both talk to AI like we're having an actual conversation. Not just barking commands, but saying things like:
"Does this make sense?"
"What am I missing here?"
"Ask me questions so we can get clear on this."
When I told Jürgen about getting blood work back for my 81-year-old father, who was frustrated because he didn’t understand any of it, then asking ChatGPT to "talk to us like we're 12" to explain what it all meant—that's when you know you've moved beyond basic prompting (and now my Dad says things like, ‘Can you ask that thing about ‘X’, lol. Needless to say I’ve put ChatGPT on his phone for him).
Your Unique Advantage (Especially If You're Over 40)
Here's something we touched on that I think is crucial: Your experience is your superpower when it comes to AI.
While some people might be worried about being "left behind," the truth is that midlife entrepreneurs have lived experience that gives us a unique lens. We've navigated decades of challenges, built careers, raised families, and solved problems that only come with time. That perspective helps us spot solutions that others might miss, not because we're better, but because we've actually lived through.
I've been building custom solutions for my audience because I know exactly what frustrates them. Not because I read about it in a report, but because I've lived it, worked with clients through it, and solved it myself.
And… because it solves a problem I had (sometimes this is the best starting point).
The Time Multiplier Effect
What gets me most excited about AI partnerships is the time it saves. As I mentioned to Jürgen, using AI to reclaim my time (eventually, I’m still in the early stages of setting up a lot of foundations), it gives me more time to get off the computer (as much as I love what I’m doing).
I can accomplish so much more—not because I want to work harder, but because I want more time to paint, spend time in nature, and be present with the people I love.
A Few Things That Made Me Laugh
During our chat, I shared how I asked ChatGPT to rewrite a professional email in the snarkiest, most condescending way possible (for my entertainment only, of course). The Samuel L. Jackson version had me laughing so hard I was crying.
Jürgen did something similar with a parking ticket appeal. Sometimes, the best use of AI is pure entertainment and stress relief!
Curious about other use cases for AI?
If you're curious about moving beyond basic AI prompts into true partnership, I highly recommend listening to our full conversation. We covered everything from "vibe coding" to building custom tools to why your midlife perspective is actually your greatest asset in the AI revolution.

The conversation reminded me why I love what I'm doing so much. I haven't felt this excited about my business since I first discovered you could make a living online.
What's one way you could start having conversations with AI instead of just giving it commands?
Hit reply and let me know—I'd love to hear about it.

I am beginning to do more with AI so I am excited to see the video!
Yes, Kim. I use it like this every day. Sometimes I'll even say, "You know what I mean?" And it reflects back at me what I said to clarify it. So I use it in very much the same way.
