Welcome to the 203rd issue of the SPARK, a weekly newsletter that helps you transform daily experiences into compelling content that captivates and sells.
Well, we made it back to California. 👩🐶
The trip back was the complete opposite of our trip to Costa Rica (thankfully).
I spent this past weekend packing, selling, and donating whatever I could to get everything to fit into the bags I had.
And I made it.
Besides the pouring rain as we loaded all my bags into my friend’s car on Tuesday, the entire day went off without a hitch.
The first sign that the day was going to go smoothly (well, I took it as a sign) was when I sat down to get some breakfast and a cappuccino. The song that was playing in the restaurant (in the airport in Costa Rica) was “Hotel California.” 😉
My biggest concern was managing all my bags (five bags, one iMac in a box, and the dog), and I didn’t have to lift any of them.
There was a guy at the Liberia airport with a cart who brought everything in
Another guy at LAX (btw, there’s a company there called ‘Prosegura’ - and they’re everywhere to help! I called Alaska, and they told me to ask one of them)
The Enterprise Car Rental driver got two carts, loaded everything, and found someone to take my stuff.
Another Enterprise employee loaded everything into the car.
I probably overtipped (I should have gotten change ahead of time), but I was so incredibly grateful for the help I didn’t care.
Once I got out of LA traffic, the drive was uneventful (amen for audiobooks!). In fact, I arrived at my sister’s house two hours earlier than I thought I would.
I took all of this as validation that I made the right decision to return (I’ll write an article on Medium about my decision soon).
I then drove back home yesterday and unpacked everything. My new desk should be delivered today, and soon enough, it will be back to business as usual.
The last two months are a bit of a blur.
It almost feels a bit like a strange dream… but for many reasons, I trust it happened exactly as it was supposed to.
This is why “We’re interrupting our normal programming”, and I’ll be back with a regular newsletter next week.

Thanks so much for your understanding.
Have a wonderful day,
Kim
