wow, @Kim Doyal , to see my work really in action and deliver value.. I could not have asked much more of a successful outcome than what you have actually shared for yourself!!

Right now I don't have words to say thank you for proving that the value is not just limited to myself or few others who used them but it is growing with everyone implementing these agents I built for my content pipeline!

There is no better feeling a creator can have than what you share! So, THANKS SO MUCH for bringing that joy to me and using these agents effectively.

You are so right that tooling changes everyday, AI changes every day, the fundamentals are the key and that's what I tried to do with entire series.

You are so very welcome, Dheeraj!

This was SO much fun to create and, more importantly, to get such tangible results.

I added features into my personal Ops Hub that pull ALL of this in... I'll be doing a video on that this week probably, because I'm so excited, lol.

And of course, now I need to go through the rest of your stuff to see what else I can do!

Thank you so much for what you're doing!

I am excited and looking forward to the video

This is fascinating, Kim! What a productive use of a plane ride 😄 You are on fire with the tools and reporting you are building!! Is the content audit and strategic plan a new addition to your Hub or do they sit as a separate tool?

Kim Doyal's avatar

Thanks, Dallas,

YES! I also created a YouTube agent and all of that is pulled into the Hub. I’ll show you when we chat.

*Yea, it was a productive plane ride, lol

We are going to need a lot of snacks and drinks for our chat 🤣

Kim Doyal's avatar

HAHA… that we are!

The fact that you needed an AI to tell you what you'd already written is kind of the perfect metaphor for why most creators' content strategies feel scattered. You're not forgetting posts because you're disorganized - you're forgetting them because you built a system that doesn't talk back to you. Did the audit also flag which of those 37 actually deserved a second life, or were some of them rightfully dead weight?

Kim Doyal's avatar

It didn’t, but that’s a great idea!

Most of what it flagged was my newsletter (I just changed that up after almost 5 years)- so I probably won’t be using them ‘as is.’ I created a script that pushed them directly into my site.

The newsletter has a few additional segments beyond the main article. I’ll pull those out and beef up the article portion.

Joseph Fung's avatar

Makes sense! I’ve found substack really blurs the line between articles and traditional newsletters. Hope the reformatting isn’t too much effort!

So insightful, Kim.

You came in thinking you had a creation problem, and the tool turned around and said, actually no, Kim, you have 62 published pieces, and you've been abandoning them on someone else's platform. That's a completely different diagnosis. And I think a lot of people will build this exact agent, get a similar insight, and still go create 10 new posts anyway because that's the comfortable motion. Creating feels productive.

Redistributing feels like admitting you didn't do it right the first time. Which is insane when you think about it, but that's the psychology, eh.

Kim Doyal's avatar

So true.

It’s also more fun to keep creating - as opposed to repurposing, and making sure you’re getting more mileage out of what you’ve already created.

Agents like this are where I see so much opportunity.

I never thought I’d enjoy data, lol. AI has definitely changed that.

Happy Tuesday Kim

I am happy one of us is enjoying data hahahahaha

Seriously, I can tell you are having fun with this process.

Good for you.

Kim Doyal's avatar

Haha, I have NEVER enjoyed data!

AI makes it a lot easier to grasp it and then convert it to a visual that my brain prefers, lol

Neela 🌶️'s avatar

Totally Kim.

I am suffering from AI fatigue at work, so I don’t appreciate it as much :(

Kim Doyal's avatar

I get that girl. I hope your holiday offline helped a little.

p.s. I might be down in LA in a month (my daughter might be moving back to SF)… would love if the timing worked to say hi and get that coffee!

Neela 🌶️'s avatar

I would love that. Just give me a heads up a week before, and I can meet you halfway. Happy Wednesday Kim

This is amazing Kim! The distribution realization is so true for me too. I spend way more time on that translation step than people realize. Also curious how you're handling the duplicate content issue with Google, are you canonicalizing back to Substack or treating the site versions as primary?

Kim Doyal's avatar

Thanks, Jenny,

I’ve dug into that and the general consensus is that the duplicate content issue isn’t as big of a deal as we think. However, to your point, the canonical is.

So the goal is to publish on my site first, then post to Substack. This is per Gemini & Claude ;-) So yes, the site version is primary.

This is incredible Kim! Thank you for sharing this detailed write-up. My fingers are itching to try it out. Also I love the Costa Rica poster in your cover photo!

Kim Doyal's avatar

Thanks, Alyssa,

It was SO fun to create! And because of building that out (followed by finishing the rest of his agents), I built a YouTube agent too! OMG!

I am seriously blown away by this stuff.

Costa Rica has a special place in my heart, lived there for a couple of years and it left an imprint on my soul. 😊

Alyssa Fu Ward, PhD's avatar

Whaaaat, what’s the YouTube agent doing? Another post coming perhaps? And that sounds incredible. I can’t wait to hear more on our coffee chat 😊

Kim Doyal's avatar

Haha, yeah, I'll definitely do a post & video on the YouTube agent, too!

I told Dheeraj I might do a quick video for him. I'll share it with you when I do. 😊

Alyssa Fu Ward, PhD's avatar

👏👏 Sounds good!

Super clear and helpful. Reasons why anyone would try this. Reasons why this is another diversion and an invitation to higher frustrations and opportunity costs. I'm delighted you are happy with it. Thank you for the detailed notes of your experience.
